Disagreence of Sweet, Sweet, Apple 

While reading Laura’s paper I found it to be kind of lackluster and vague. I disagree with this paper because I feel as though it didn’t grasp the concept of the assignment. The assignment was to write an exploratory essay based on a fairytale from Grimm Tales for Young and Old

 then find the rhetoric and use three other examples to support your claim. I feel as though in Laura’s paper she only explained the story of snow white but did not back up her claim with any other examples. For this, I have to disagree with the paper because I wish that she had just pulled a little bit more passion into her paper and added her examples. 

         Her connection to colors and how colors play a part in real life and also fairytales was well taught. In her essay, she says “ The color red shows up a lot in fairy tales in fairytales, especially women and their sexuality. Red is a symbol for beauty and ex. In Disneys Snow White, the colors red and white are very present with the purpose of symbolizing maturity and motherhood.” There is a  psychology as to why certain colors are used and what image they are trying to push out, nothing is ever an accident or a coincidence. A book’s overall tone can be determined by color. For instance, purple might be used to evoke a sense of imagination. Character qualities can be identified in a movie using color, for example, by having a gloomy character wear yellow or a greedy businessman wear green. Additionally, color can be utilized to represent how a character or tale develops. au

        In Laura’s essay, she also had comedic moments which I feel is important to have because sometimes as I’m reading I can begin to get bored and lose focus through the stories. But comedic moments are like a restart for me to regain my attention. In the essay, Laura states “She then moves in with seven strange little men, who only allow her to stay there because of her beauty and with the promise that she will perform domestic chores for them. Classic”. Her use of “Classic “ was more of a sarcastic joking moment which I found pretty funny. She also makes the connection that men wait until no one is around by hurting little girls. She states “She finds Snow White in the seven dwarfs’ house, she first makes sure she is all alone, that the little men are not around (like any other person who plans to harm a young girl)”. Now with this connection, I agree with Laura but I wish she would have pulled a little bit more it’s as if she left me on a cliffhanger and I’m waiting for the explosive ending.

       In conclusion, Laura’s paper is nice however it doesn’t give me much to disagree or agree with. I wish she would gave her paper a bit more passion and thought because she does have a few good claims. I feel as though Laura had the tools she needed to set this paper off the edge but she didn’t use them to full advantage. So for this, I have to disagree because I will like the paper wasn’t enough. If Laura would have used examples and explained the rhetoric a bit more I probably would have had a different outlook on her work. But overall, she did make a few good connections and had a comedic twist which I thought the paper needed
